BIO

The Great Zamboni is Jack McKusky, born May 27th, 1976 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Jack started doing magic at 13 years old, and at 15 he was admitted to the prestigious Magic Castle in Hollywood as a junior member. The same year he began performing street magic in Old Town Pasadena, as well as performing at private parties, weddings and other events. At 17 he travelled to Venezuela for his senior year of high school where he continued doing his street magic show. There he met his future wife, Sulin Prado (aka. The Lovely Nutella), actress and model, who had studied with and later joined Venezuela’s most prominent theatre company; La Rajatabla. In 1995 they moved to Barcelona, Spain and Jack quit magic shortly after to dedicate himself to theatre and film. He wrote and directed five short films, as well as busked with his wife, performing theatre and pantomime throughout Spain and other European countries as well as theatre festivals, for 10 years. In 2005 they opened a theatre café/cocktail bar, “Las Cuevas del Sorte”, in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, where they hosted cabaret acts, stand up comedy and live music. In 2017 they sold the theatre-café and relocated to Nerja, on Spain’s southern Costa del Sol. Jack could not escape his destiny and once again began making his living as a magician. For the past eight years Jack has made his mark as a close-up magician, logging thousands of hours doing table magic in restaurants for tips (‘table hopping’), as well as gigs at weddings and other events in Spain, Switzerland and Norway. He’s spent the last three years putting together his stage show (“The Great Zamboni Has Arrived”), with his wife, doing two seasons in Nerja’s Burro Blanco Flamenco theatre.
Jack is proud of his beginnings as a street performer and table hopper, as the charisma and showmanship he’s acquired from this experience is part of what has made him into the entertainer that he is today; The Great Zamboni
